He became the fastest batsman to score 1500 runs in ODIs from India. He achieved this position in just 34 innings.

Before Iyer, this record was in the name of KL Rahul. He had completed 1500 runs in ODIs in 36 innings. Iyer missed out on scoring a century. He scored 82 runs in 102 balls. Iyer made an important partnership of 107 runs with Akshar Patel for the fifth wicket and got India back in the match.

He had scored a century and 6 half-centuries in 2022 till this match. Dhawan has scored 685 runs in 21 matches so far this year. At the same time, Gill has 638 runs in 12 matches.
