Morocco held Croatia to a draw
Arab countries continue strong performance in FIFA World Cup
Croatia is the runner-up of 2018
New Delhi. Morocco continued the Arab countries’ run of form at the FIFA World Cup, holding 2018 runners-up Croatia to a goalless draw in their Group F match here on Wednesday. About 24 hours before this powerful game of Morocco, Saudi Arabia had done the biggest upset in this World Cup by defeating the Argentina team with the presence of veteran Lionel Messi. After this, another Arab country Tunisia succeeded in stopping the Danish team from reaching the semi-finals of the European Championship.
Moroccan players managed to stop Croatia’s captain Luka Modric, who became the best player of the last World Cup. Modric was also voted the best player of the match on Wednesday, but as soon as it was announced, Moroccan fans protested loudly. Morocco also created some great chances in the match. Paris Saint-Germain’s star player Ashraf Hakimi’s excellent strike on the ball was thwarted by Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livkovic.

The 37-year-old Modric, the legend of Real Madrid, is playing his fourth and last World Cup. He created a great chance to score in stoppage time from the first half but the ball hit the goal post and went away.
Dojan Lovran gave Croatia another chance to take the lead. Taking the ball coming from the corner, he reached near the goal post but Sofian Amrabat made a good save for Morocco.
