Bangladesh took an unassailable 2-1 lead in the 3-match ODI series.
Many players could not play on the Bangladesh tour due to injury.
New Delhi. Rohit Sharma & Co suffered yet another defeat in Bangladesh, which meant they have now lost their second ODI series in the country in seven years. Playing to save the series after the defeat in the first ODI, India bowled brilliantly to reduce Bangladesh’s score to 69/6 at the end of the 19th over. But Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Mahmudullah made a record ODI partnership for the seventh wicket against India and brought Bangladesh back into the match. On the basis of the record partnership of these two, Bangladesh scored a score of 271 runs in front of India.
In response, India came under pressure due to captain Rohit Sharma batting at number nine and trying his best to save the match. Rohit Sharma was also seen to be successful in his endeavour, but the end did not go in his favor. Meanwhile, fans fiercely criticized Team India on social media. ODI World Cup is not far away now. In such a situation, the performance of the team is not going to please the management and coach Rahul Dravid. On asking whether batting and bowling are becoming a problem in the middle overs? Dravid said that it is not easy not to have a complete team.

After the match, Rahul Dravid said, “From our point of view, it has not been so easy to play. We didn’t have the full team. We hope that from January we will get the full team to play in the home series, but it will depend on the injuries. We have nine ODIs (three against New Zealand, three against Sri Lanka and three against Australia) before the IPL and hope that we will get a stable team for these matches. Dravid believes that from January, there is every possibility that India will have a ‘full strength’ ODI team, which will play continuously for the next eight-nine months till the ODI World Cup to be held in October-November.
He further said, “In the last two years, we were giving a lot of priority to T20, because there were two World Cups to play. In the next 8-10 months, our priority will be ODI cricket. Adapting to formats is not that easy. Our white-ball specialists will get some rest as Test matches will be played.
