Pori Moni receives bail in drug case
Shamsunnahar Smriti, higher generally known as Pori Moni, has obtained bail after turning herself in over a narcotics case filed at Dhaka’s Banani Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Justice of the Peace Satyabrata Sikder made the choice on Sunday.
A listening to within the case was to be held on Sunday. The Felony Investigation Division submitted a charge sheet towards Pori Moni and two others to the courtroom. The courtroom took cognizance of the costs after which transferred the case to the Metropolitan Periods Decide’s courtroom.
Each Pori Moni and Kabir Howladar beforehand obtained bail within the case till the charge sheet was submitted. Each of them turned themselves into the courtroom on Sunday and petitioned for bail. The courtroom authorized each of their petitions. Ashraful Islam Dipu, one other of Pori Moni’s associates, had beforehand obtained bail.
Lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Surovi represented Pori Moni on the listening to, whereas Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu represented the state and opposed the bail.
The courtroom granted the bail after listening to arguments from each side.
On Aug 4, RAB carried out a raid on Pori Moni’s residence in Banani Street 12. They seized a major quantity of medication from the home on the time.
On Aug 5, she was remanded for 4 days and on Aug 10 she was remanded for an additional two days within the case.
On Aug 13, after the second spherical of remand was completed, she was despatched to jail.
A courtroom accepted yet one more remand petition towards the actress on Aug 19, granting one other day to interrogate her.
She was despatched again to jail on Aug 21 after that remand ended.
On Aug 31, Dhaka Metropolitan Periods Decide KM Imrul Kayes granted Pori Moni bail till the charge sheet was submitted. She was launched from jail the next day.
